July 16, 2010 in FMSB Academy, Football Manager by badderman

The summer transfer window has swung open. With both Wenger and Ferguson leaving their posts, could their be upheavals in store for Taylor and Luck? Will Paterson manage to find another Premier League club and will Edwards finally leave Forest?

James Bishop was named in Sheffield Wednesday Seasonal Best Eleven, and on his return to Chelsea was once again listed for loan. A return to Wednesday was touted, however it was rumoured that they were to face competition from Reading. On the last day of the transfer window, Bishop decided upon another spell at Sheffield Wednesday meaning he will spend the next four months in the Championship.

Owen Edwards was named In Nottingham Forest Seasonal Best Eleven and was also voted the 2012/13 Supporters Player of the Year. Upon relegation to League One he was swiftly labelled an indispensable member of the team and all offers were rebuffed.

Will Luck was named in Preston Seasonal Best Eleven. Upon his return to Old Trafford he was removed from loan list. Despite this, a loan offer from Coventry tempted United into parting with the player until January and the young Welshman moved to the Ricoh Arena.

Alistair Paterson was initially transfer listed with Wolves considered the most likely destination. However, Paterson was later removed from the transfer list as Sheffield United managed to off load 9 players for a combined £4.2million. Paterson also played in England’s Euro U21 Qualifying defeat to Croatia.

Phil Taylor was unsurprisingly named in the Blackburn Seasonal Best Eleven. He was swiftly removed from loan list at the Emirates and it has now been suggested that he will become a regular member of the first team squad. Taylor also played in England’s Euro U21 Qualifying victory over Poland as well as in the defeats to Croatia and Italy. He has also become the first Academy player to be called up for the full England squad, being named by Stuart Pearce for the friendlies against San Marino and the Czech Republic.
